Aaron J. Morton

Designer

Aaron J. Morton is a designer for Bixby Bands.  This includes writing drill, visual work, and creative audio and media for all facets of the program.

Prior to his teaching at Bixby, Aaron Morton worked for Coweta Bands.

Matt Sumner

Drum Major/Conducting Instructor

Matt Sumner is the Drum Major Instructor for the Pride of Bixby.  This includes teaching conducting methods and visual work that the drum majors perform in the pregame and competitive shows.

Before teaching at Bixby, Matt Sumner was the drum major of the Pride of Oklahoma.  His music affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Alex Price

Visual Coach, Brass Coach

Alex Price is a visual and brass coach for the Pride of Bixby.  His duties include teaching and facilitating visuals and music on the field during rehearsal.

Prior to his teaching at Bixby, Alex Price performed with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps.  His music affiliation includes Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

 

McKenzie Vermillion

Guard Instructor

McKenzie Vermillion is the Guard Instructor for Bixby Bands. She is in charge of teaching the fall and winter guard programs which include students from 6th through 12th grades.

Before teaching at Bixby, McKenzie Vermillion was a member of the Bixby Fall and Winter Guard programs. She began her guard career in the 7th grade and continued into high school, becoming captain in 2012. After graduation she spent two seasons as a member of Eclectix Independent Winter Guard, serving as captain. McKenzie spent three seasons touring with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps (one as captain) and spent her final season with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps in 2015. She has been teaching color guard in Bixby for 5 years.

 

Shelby Rowe

Color Guard Staff

Shelby is part of the Bixby Color Guard staff. She assists with show design, choreography, and flag. Shelby is a four year veteran of both Bixby Colorguard and Winterguard and brings thirteen years of dance experience to our program.
